Production Weekend 2025

Designed to help producers gain confidence in collaborating and producing quality music.

The weekend, open to women and non-binary people, is designed to help the participants, most notably the producers, gain confidence in collaborating and producing quality music. There will be three producer rooms, each with a producer, artist, and collaborator completing a demo the artist has provided. At the end of the weekend there will be a listening party for participants to hear everyone’s songs.

Applications are open 24th October to 14th November, notified by the 21st November

Participant Requirements :

  • Self identify and a women or non-binary

  • Is available for the full time on each day attended

Artist
The artist will bring in some pre-written demos to the workshop and will choose one demo to work on with the producer. The artist should know the keys and chords, and have a sound direction for each demo. They serve as the “client” for the producer to practice working for.

Requirements as an artist :

  • Have previously created and released music

  • Has multiple demos they can bring to the sessions to choose from

  • Is open to working with new and developing producers

Collaborator
The collaborator will bring in any instruments they can play that they would like to use. They serve as another person to offer ideas and solutions for the producer, and to play musical ideas the producer and artist have on their respective instruments.

Requirement as a collaborator :

  • Have previously contributed to the creation of released music

  • Is proficient in one or multiple instruments

  • Is open to working with new and developing producers

Producer
The producer will bring their computer, DAW, and any other equipment (that the studio doesn't have). The producer will run the session. They are the focus of the event and are practicing how to record and produce the artist’s ideas with help from the artist and collaborator.

Requirements as a producer :

  • Have previously produced at least one released song

  • Intends to produce more music in the future

  • Wants to develop their skills to better produce for other people

  • Has their own computer and DAW to bring to the workshop
