Relationships and Boundaries Kōrero

Two experienced music creators will talk through common situations in studio while participants listen and contribute to the conversation as they feel comfortable

In recording sessions the engineer and producer are usually the most experienced people in the room who are leading the creative process. There are difficult and unique pressures in the music industry that can often blur the lines between personal and professional boundaries, creating unhealthy relationships and environments for both music creator and artist. By learning to establish and maintain healthy relationships, music creators can create safer, more respectful environments that foster creativity, collaboration, and long-term success.

In this kōrero two experienced music creators will talk through common situations in studio while up to 15 participants listen and contribute to the conversation as they feel comfortable. Participants are not required to participate in the discussion.

While the kōrero will take place by music creators for music creators, the talking points of the discussion have been developed by an experienced wellbeing coordinator.

This is a private and open space for participants to talk through, reflect, and understand their own studio practice, find good solutions for common problems they may have, and develop community.
