Studio Skills Workshop Pōneke

Date : 25th and 26th July 2026, 10am to 5pm
Location : Surgery Studios, Newtown

The Studio Skills Workshop Pōneke will take place at Surgery Studios on the 25th and 26th July with Lee Prebble and Brooke Singer (with facilitation from Emily Wheatcroft-Snape).

The two day workshop is for women and non-binary music creators at an advanced beginner to intermediate level who want to improve their recording skills in a studio environment.

The first day will cover; basic studio practice, equipment, and signal flow, common microphones and recording techniques, and drum set-up. The second day will cover; basic live band set-up, stereo recording techniques, the opportunity for each participant to achieve signal and record a live band, and the opportunity to talk through specific questions with one of the facilitators.

Requirements :

  • Over 18 years old

  • Self-identify as a woman or non-binary

  • Have a skill level of advanced-beginner and above in audio engineering or music production
